LOU is organized as a partnership. We currently have 9 partners, none of whom are organized as a limited liability company. Our attorneys are members of the Danish Bar and Law Society and have been admitted to practice law by the Danish Ministry of Justice. They are all covered by our liability insurance and guarantee scheme, underwritten by Tryg Forsikring. The liability insurance covers all of our legal services, regardless of where they are provided.
LOU adheres to standard terms of business. These terms include contractual clauses addressing choice of venue and jurisdiction. We have established internal guidelines to avoid conflicts of interest, and at the request of a client, we will provide information on the precautions we take to avoid them.
Our attorneys are subject to the Danish Bar and Law Society’s supervisory and disciplinary system, as well as the regulations on professional conduct in §126 of the Danish Administration of Justice Act (Retsplejeloven). They are also bound by the Danish Bar and Law Society’s rules and code of conduct.
Banking connections:
LOU Law Firm uses client bank accounts in the client’s bank.
The main client account is kept in Danske Bank.
Pursuant to the Deposit Guarantee and Investment Protection Act (Indskydergarantiordningen) §§ 10-12, the guarantee provided for by the act covers funds deposited in a bank up to an amount equivalent to EURO 100,000 for each depositor, however deducted based on the depositors liabilities to the bank concerned if such liabilities have become due.

Insurance
Covering all services rendered by LOU Law Firm, the firm has a statutory liability insurance in the insurance company of Tryg – policy no. 674 21.268.
